Planting the Seeds for Farm Innovation: A Guide to Achieving Flexible Land Use Policy in Ontario’s Greater Golden Horseshoe
This guide aids with Sustain Ontario’s efforts to help create a more sustainable food system; and this guide expands the knowledge of land use planning policy around farming’s economic, social, and environmental aspects. The barriers for farm innovation are addressed in this guide, and it follows by making recommendations to how policy (municipal) can be altered to allow for innovation. Municipal policy members can use this guide as a reference when reviewing agriculture policy in their regions, possibly to create sustainable agriculture and food systems where development is/needs to occur.
