Losing Our Grip: 2015 update: How corporate farmland buy-up, rising farm debt, and agribusiness financing of inputs threaten family farms

This report overviews the decreasing number of family farms as a result of the increasing amount of corporate farmland purchasing. This is put into context of Canadian farmers needing to consider long term ecological planning, which ties into community building and Canada’s diversity. Within the report are cross-provincial and international cases of the state of farmland ownership, laws, funding resources, and possibilities/ recommendations of where Canada can assist in the maintenance of family farmland ownership.
