Household Food Waste: Multivariate Regression and Principal Components Analyses of Awareness and Attitudes among U.S. Consumers

This study looks at food waste awarness and attitudes among residents using responses from a national U.S. survey. Among other findings, nearly 70% of respondents were found to agree that throwing away food that has passed the “best before” date reduces the odds of foodborne illness, while almost 60% agree that some food waste is necessary to ensure meals taste fresh.
