Food Miles: Environmental Implications of Food Imports to Waterloo Region

Food miles is used to describe the distance that food travels from where it is grown to where it is consumed. The concept of food miles is commonly used as environmental rationale for support local food systems. This report documents the food miles and greenhouse gas emissions of certain imported products in Waterloo Ontario.
