Current and Future Opportunities for Agricultural Development in Northeast Ontario: A Regional Development Perspective
This report researched through several methods: literature review, data analysis, intervews, to assess the prior barriers to developing agriculture potential in Northern Ontario regions. The report highlights the socioeconomic factors that contributed to the lack of Northern harvesting rather than ecological factors. The report intends to create strategic actions in order to expand agriculture into these regions, including, but not limited to, increased funding, recognition by the government, and connecting actors to start looking into the potential to developing the North for agriculture.
