Building Capacity for Northern Ontario Agriculture
This presentation of farming potential in Northern Ontario gives insight into the possibility of shifting development and agriculture pressure in the Greenbelt and Greater Toronto Area (GTA) towards a less utilized area in Ontario- the North. It seeks to highlight key opportunities of scaling up farms, reaching food security in Northern regions, food hubs, product diversity, proximity to processing, and the creation of new markets. This may provide useful to new farmers looking to head out of the GTA, within developing regions.
