The Ontario Farmland Trust is organizing free online webinars to explore and discuss pressures on farmland, as well as innovative ideas to approach these pressures.
October 31st: Balancing Farmland Protection & Housing Supply
When: October 31st, 12 pm – 1 pm
Webinar attendees will learn about the current policies and practices in Ontario and other jurisdictions that have been successful in protecting farmland. By the end of the session, participants will have a deeper understanding of the complex issues at play, leaving with practical and innovative strategies for balancing these competing demands and ways to get involved locally.
November 14th: Farmland Forever: An Introduction to Farmland Protection Options
When: Tuesday November 14th, 12 pm – 1 pm
This session will introduce participants to their options for protecting farmland with OFT, covering land donations and conservation easement agreements with plenty of time for discussions and questions. Working with a land trust offers a number of options to ensure the land you have carefully stewarded stays in agriculture for generations to come.
