The Local Food and Farm Co-ops (LFFC) is hosting an Indigenous-led Foodways workshop series on September 7 and 8, 2022.

The two-part hands-on train-the-trainer series will provide historical traditional teachings while also walking participants through recipe development and food prep.

Workshop 1: Fish and baby food (September 7th)
Workshop 2: Berries and wild game (September 8th)

The series is led by LFFC’s Indigenous Relations Coordinator, Arlene Meekis-Jung.

The online interactive sessions are for:

  • First Nations, Métis, Inuit peoples interested in learning hands-on food skills and traditional teachings to then share with their communities
  • Co-op members or volunteers wanting to host workshops and learn skills to teach others
  • Organizations who host food workshops, seeking to incorporate traditional foods
  • Individuals interested in learning more about traditional food preparation methods
  • Community members in using traditional methods looking to incorporate regional foods (especially if you’re based in Northwest ON and are in ordering range of the #LFFCmember AgriTech North in Dryden)
