In celebration of healthy school food, hundreds of crunchers joined the 2022 Canada-wide virtual Great Big Crunch on March 10th, hosted by the Coalition for Healthy School Food and Sustain’s Edible Education Coordinator Carolyn Webb.

This year’s virtual event took place on International School Meals Day, and was attended by many students, teachers, and food lovers, as well as provincial and federal ministers. It was fantastic to see so many excited crunchers on the call in support of a healthy school food program for Canada. Check out the recording below!

During the event, the Honourable Karina Gould highlighted the importance of school food and the federal government’s commitment to implementing a school food program in Canada.

The Great Big Crunch isn’t over yet!

If you weren’t able to join us on the 10th, you’re invited to celebrate your own Great Big Crunch any time throughout March.

You can replay the recording to follow along with the activities! Apple Yoga, just one of the fun activities held for students, begins at the 10 minute mark in the recording.

If you’re organizing your own Crunch, make sure to register with the Coalition for Healthy School Food, and visit their website to find tools and resources, including an Activities Toolkit with curriculum-linked lesson plans.

Thanks to all who have participated in the 2022 #GreatBigCrunch so far!
