The Organic Council of Ontario (OCO) is currently hiring for three positions to help facilitate a number of new projects, including work to provide more information to farmers on climate-friendly growing practises.

Website and Information Systems Manager

Hours: 30 – 40 hours a week
Contract: 6 month contract with possible extension pending funding
Location: Anywhere in Ontario, remote work.
Salary Range: $40,000 to $50,000 pro-rated salary
Benefits: OCO compensates staff for personal device use, internet and other small office expenses pending approval. After 6 months,staff may be offered a health savings plan.

OCO has recently revamped their Ontario Organic Directory, Organic Data Portal and created a new Organic Knowledge Base all within one custom-developed application that draws data on membership, certification, and products from OCO’s online Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform and system of record, Hubspot. The Website and Information Systems Manager will support OCO to manage this new application and improve it, increasing integration, efficiency, and creating a seamless experience for OCO members, staff and public users. Strategic Partnerships and Development Manager

Hours: 30-40 hours a week
Contract: 10-12 month contract with possible extension pending funding
Location: Anywhere in Ontario, remote work. Preference for Guelph or GTA.
Salary Range: $40,000 to $50,000 pro-rated and commensurate with experience
Benefits: OCO compensates staff for personal device use, internet and other small office expenses pending approval. After 6 months, staff may be offered a health savings plan.

OCO seeks a highly motivated strategic thinker who can navigate deeply political relationships and find solutions. The Strategic Partnerships Development Manager will be tasked with supporting OCO’s Executive Director and board in creating long-term partnerships with agricultural commodity and general farm organizations to secure the long-term future of the organization. The work will involve identifying and engaging with key contacts in at least three organic value chains in order to create a clear and effective value proposition to be presented to potential partners. The work will involve data compilation and triangulation, questionnaire and survey development, and many interviews with organic operators and other agricultural stakeholders. Marketing and Education Manager

Hours: 30-40 hours a week
Contract: 6-12 month contract with possible extension pending funding
Location: Anywhere in Ontario, preference for Guelph or GTA.
Salary Range: $40,000 to $50,000 pro-rated and commensurate with experience

OCO has recently received a grant to support a farmer-facing information campaign that promotes climate-friendly farming practices that are evidence-based. The campaign will employ both traditional and digital media channels, with an emphasis on video, podcasts, webinars, and social media outreach. Critical to this campaign will be the development of Key Performance Indicators to evaluate success.

In addition to this campaign, the Marketing and Education Manager will support the roll-out of online farmer training workshops and webinars in partnership with a national program to improve organic production as well as support the on-going development of new communications strategies and education resources.
