Nutrition Connections is hosting two free webinars in May 2021, one on Racial Health Inequity & Systemic Racism in Health
and another on Implications of COVID-19 on the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program & Food Security Rates.

Racial Health Inequity & Systemic Racism in Health will take place on Thursday, May 13, from 2 – 2:45 p.m. ET. This webinar will look at how systemic racism is affecting health and the quality of healthcare delivered in Canada, with Dr. Carrie Bourassa, B.A., M.A., PhD, Scientific Director of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research – Institute of Indigenous Peoples’ Health and Professor at the University of Saskatchewan. What are the Implications of COVID-19 on the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program & Food Security Rates? will take place on Thursday, May 27, from 2 – 3 p.m. ET. This webinar will look at how COVID-19 has impacted Seasonal Agricultural Workers, farmers and their ability to hire Seasonal Agricultural Workers, and what this has meant for Canada’s food supply. The panel will also speak more broadly on food security and how it has been affected by the pandemic. Speakers include Dr. Valerie Tarasuk, Alex Chesney, Jade Guthrie and Chris Ramsaroop.
