Food Secure Canada is hosting a virtual town hall on Canada’s new Food Policy Advisory Council on Wednesday, March 17, from 6 – 7:30 p.m. ET.

Food Secure Canada (FSC) shares:

“After years of collective advocacy, the federal government announced the Canadian Food Policy Advisory Council, which convened for the first time on March 4, 2021. This represents a key moment for the Canadian food movement, where an independent, multi-stakeholder body with some diversity of voices is advising the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, Marie-Claude Bibeau, on implementing the Food Policy for Canada. What happened at the first meeting and how can we continue to push for healthy, just, and sustainable food systems, and increasing the space for participatory decision-making in the public interest?”

The town hall will feature an update from FSC and partners, followed by a breakout discussion.
