For this year’s Great Big Crunch, FoodShare is highlighting Ontario’s migrant farmworkers and the vital and often under-appreciated role they play in our local food system.

On Wednesday, March 10, FoodShare and Justice for Migrant Workers (J4MW) are hosting a panel discussion that will give children and youth, and anyone else who wants to join, a chance to learn more about migrant worker rights and the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program from J4MW activists.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Jackson Tsang, a grade 12 student at Parkdale Collegiate Institute, and will take place live via Zoom and Facebook from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. EST.

Register to attend here. Those who register over Zoom will have the chance to submit kids’ and youths’ questions for the panellists.

FoodShare also has an accompanying Great Big Crunch Educator Toolkit focusing on the crucial role that migrant farmworkers play in Ontario.
