Cheyenne Sundance of Sundance Harvest has launched a free 12-week urban agriculture mentorship program for marginalized youth, Growing in the Margins Fall and Winter Mentorship.

Located in Toronto, the mentorship is for youth who would like to start their own urban farm, have a full-time career in agriculture, or lead community food sovereignty movements, but need hands-on farming education.

There are two streams: Mentorship and Drop In.

“When I started my journey as a farmer, I looked high and low for all the information I could get on farming,” Cheyenne shares on the Sundance Harvest website. “Books helped a lot but there was nothing like hands on learning and mentorship. This is why I’m so excited to offer two urban agriculture mentorships for low-income youth on the margins (Black, Indigenous, POC, LGBTQ2s+ and persons with disabilities).”
