Ratinenhayén:thos (the Kenhtè:ke Seed Sanctuary) is hosting next week’s Bring Food Home event,  Seed to Seed, on Saturday, November 23, in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory.

Seedkeepers Terrylynn Brant and Steve McComber and Chef Tawnya Brant will talk about seed saving as food sovereignty, selecting seed in a changing climate, and cooking with seed. There will also be a delicious seed-to-table meal, and the day will end with a seed swap.

The event will include sessions about:

  • Things to consider when selecting seed to save
  • How to avoid cross pollination and keep seed pure
  • Choosing varieties of corn for shorter growing seasons
  • Panel discussion on challenges and adaptations for growing in a changing climate
  • Breakout discussions and information sharing on experiences this growing season

Register on the Eventbrite page here.

We hope to see you there!

This is the fourth and final Bring Food Home 2019 regional conference! Thanks once again to Whole Foods Market for sponsoring all events.
