The Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation have recently released a report, Greenbelt Farmers: Sustaining Soil Health, sharing stories of 14 different farmers from across the Greenbelt who are using a variety of practices to improve their soil health.

“From the clean air and water that sustains human life to the natural beauty of the landscape that provides recreational opportunities, the Greenbelt is uniquely positioned to provide and preserve a high quality rural and agricultural landscape for the benefit of millions of Ontarians,” the introduction of the report explains. “Protecting and conserving the rich diversity of soils that are found in the region is critical to sustaining the Greenbelt over the long-term.”
