Enjoy the tastes of Guelph Wellington at Taste Real’s 14th Annual Local Food Fest, taking place this year on Sunday, June 23 at the Ignatius Jesuit Centre (5420 Hwy 6 North, Guelph/Eramosa).

The festival is a feast for all senses, including farm fresh foods, craft beers and local ciders, chefs preparing delicious local foods, flowers and plants in the farmers’ market area, wagon rides through the farm property, local performers and more. Visitors can also learn about mushroom growing and foraging, sausage making, fermenting and composting, bread making, backyard chickens, container gardening, and cider making – all through free workshops offered throughout the day. New to this year’s event is also a book signing and tasting table.

Some of the many activities for kids include:

  • a planting workshop and a make your own salad dressing workshop
  • face painting
  • apple bobbing
  • a smoothie bike to ride
  • butter tart eating contest
  • planet bean coffee sack races
  • historical butter making with the Wellington Museum and Archives

Admission is $5 per person, or $10 per family.
