Ontario Farmland Trust and Farms at Work are hosting an event on the Value of Protecting Farmland on Monday, May 27, from 7-9 p.m. in Fraserville.

All are welcome to this free event.

Presentation topics will include:

  • the cost of providing municipal services for farmland vs. residential land using a case study from Ontario
  • the value of food-producing lands, and how much land is needed to feed us
  • the status of farmland protection in Peterborough County
  • the use and benefits of protecting farmland with provincial policies and Farmland Easement Agreements
