The National Farmers Union-Ontario, Oasis Food Hub and Conscious Minds Co-op are co-hosting an upcoming event, Climate Resilient Food System Solutions: An Urban/Rural Discussion on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Friends House in Toronto from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

They are inviting experts from across the food sector to share knowledge, discuss solutions, and plan actions to establish sustainable food systems for healthy and resilient urban/rural communities and farms.

The gathering will:

  1. Review the challenges and barriers impeding the right to healthy food
  2. Focus on actionable systemic solutions
  3. Explore strategic actions and advocacy we can engage in coalition and within our farms, organizations and communities
  4. Pledge to take action

The goal is to begin to combine diverse urban and rural narratives to develop comprehensive solutions and strategies for action, and to leave the session pledging to commit to ongoing action towards achieving more resilient, healthy and sustainable local food systems.

This is a free event, and catered lunch from Nish Dish will be included. If you have any questions, please contact sana@nfuontario.ca.

Register on the Eventbrite page here. Once registered, you will receive some materials to help prepare for a productive gathering. The deadline to register is March 19, 2019.
