The Laurier Centre for Sustainable Food Systems invite you to join them for a guest lecture with Dr. Nevin Cohenon on the evening of Thursday, March 14, 2019, from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Balsillie School of International Affairs in Waterloo, to discuss hidden food metrics and what they tell us about our food systems.

Dr. Nevin Cohenon is Associate Professor at the City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate School of Public Health, and Research Director of CUNY’s Urban Food Policy Institute. The lecture will highlight Dr. Cohen’s work in identifying how hidden food metrics—data that is collected by city agencies but often buried in low-profile documents—could be used by citizens, policymakers, and advocates to monitor important aspects of the food system, lobby for new resources, support effective initiatives, and design and implement complementary programs.

This lecture will be followed by a Q&A with Barbara Emanuel, Manager of the Toronto Food Strategy with Toronto Public Health. A reception with light refreshments will follow the talk.

The event is free, but registration is required on the Eventbrite page.
