A new, free guide for organizing cooking initiatives in schools has been released, A Recipe for Successful Cooking Workshops.

The guide was developed through the collaboration of several partners: Équiterre, Commission scolaire de Montréal (CSDM), Dairy Farmers of Canada and the Direction régionale de santé publique de Montréal, as part of the Schools Take Root project.

Available online and in print, in English and in French, this practical guide aims to encourage and facilitate the implementation of effective cooking workshops. It provides tips and practical advice on planning, organizing and running cooking activities for teachers and educators, and provides the tools to measure success.

While designed with school daycares in mind, the guide can be adapted for use by others in the primary school environment (e.g. by teachers in the classroom) or in other settings (e.g. community organizations, educational childcare centres, etc).

You can order a free paper copy of the guide here: www.educationNutrition.ca/guideateliersculinaires

To help put the guide into practice, there will be two webinars offered in January 2019:

· In French: Tuesday, January 15, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

· In English: Tuesday, January 22, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
