Lynn Roblin, Registered Dietitian & Senior Policy Consultant at Ontario Public Health Association and Board member of Sustain Ontario, asking about an Ontario Food Policy Council

Last week, Sustain Ontario, the Ryerson Centre for Studies in Food Security, and the Toronto Food Policy Council co-hosted an all-candidates debate at Ryerson University to discuss food and farming issues in the province. A video of the live stream is now available on Ryerson’s website.

Priyan De Silva, Green Party candidate for Scarborough-Rouge Park, and Mary Rita Holland, President of Ontario’s NDP, took part in the debate. All four major parties were invited.

The debate touched on many of the important issues the next provincial government will have to address — from farm prosperity, income security and food justice to aboriginal sovereignty, an Ontario Food Policy Council, student nutrition and food literacy. Over 100 people attended!

If you missed it, we encourage you to watch and share the video here.
