Come meet and learn from some of Toronto’s most inspiring food leaders. Toronto Youth Food Policy Council (TYFPC) is holding a networking café and careers roundtable at Regent Park Community Centre on Monday, February 6th from 6-8pm.

As per their website, TYFPC is the world’s first youth-run food policy council; their mission statement is to mobilize and engage youth to make change by building a just food system.

The event schedule is as follows:

  • 6:00 – 6:45pm – Registration, Dinner, and Networking Career Café;
  • 6:45 – 8:00pm – Food Career Round Table.

Local food champions will be present to share their unique career paths and offer advice on how to build your skills, networks and explore opportunities in the food sector. Potential careers in the food sector include community food programming, food research, food activism, and non- profit and public sector jobs. Common questions, challenges and concerns shared by youth will be addressed in the careers roundtable.
