HaltonRegionsmallRegistration is open for 4th Annual Halton Region Agricultural Forum Thursday, March 10 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Country Heritage Park in Milton, Ontario.   The event is for farmers, food and other ag-product processors, students, entrepreneurs and related organizations.  Offered each year, the forum demonstrates Halton Region’s commitment to supporting and preserving a vibrant agricultural community.

Rene Van Acker from Ontario Agricultural College will discuss the “Planning for Tomorrow” project which identified the skill sets and employment needs of the agriculture and food sector from primary production through to manufacturing/processing and distribution.  Michael Wolfson, Food Specialist with the City of Toronto, will address “Entrepreneurship – Another Career Avenue” –  focusing on the Food Starter program,  a “one stop shop” that supports early stage food processors with the resources they need from concept to the shelf and food commercialization.
