Community Food Centres Canada (CFCC) is seeking candidates for 4 exciting full-time job opportunities at their Toronto office. If you are passionate about the need to change the status quo as it relates to food insecurity for low-income Canadians, then these openings could be great opportunities to make an impact.

CFCC provides ideas, resources and a proven approach to partner organizations across Canada to create Community Food Centres that bring people together to grow, cook, share, and advocate for good food. CFCC also works with the broader food movement to build greater capacity for impact and to empower communities to work toward a healthy and fair food system. CFCC is a Sustain Ontario Member.

CFCC is hiring a Fundraising Coordinator, Partnership and Evaluation Coordinator, Stewardship Coordinator, and a Writing and Communications Manager. Follow the links below for full details on each role, including application timelines and processes.

Fundraising Coordinator

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop a national corporate giving program that includes meaningful recognition, employee engagement and partnership opportunities for potential corporate partners;
  • Identifying prospects and advancing CFCC’s relationship with corporations, corporate foundations and other potential sponsorship partners;
  • Contribute to the creation and support of a successful and collaborative approach to fundraising between CFCC and our network of Community Food Centres across Canada;

Qualifications:

Post secondary education in related field; 3 years of work experience in a non-profit with sound knowledge of basic fund raising principles and practices; demonstrated capacity to develop network with multiple partners; excellent communication skills and evidence of leadership and initiative, tact, diplomacy, attention to detail and creativity.

Partnership and Evaluation Coordinator

 Responsibilities include:

  • Working with the Evaluation & Research Manager to deliver a multi-site annual program survey process involving in-person interviews with program participants from across CFCs;
  • Supporting a wide range of administrative functions related to partner site administration;
  • Writing/editing/disseminating tools and resources relating to programs offered at CFCs;
  • Working with our program and evaluation team as a connector between our affiliated Community Food Centre (CFC) partners and Good Food Organizations (GFOs) and to help implement our evaluation strategy across partner sites;
  • Staying abreast of research and best practices literature across the community food security sector and disseminating to other staff and partners;
  • Working with the Knowledge Exchange and Program Managers to use knowledge swaps, listservs, document sharing and training opportunities to share program models and other resources across Community Food Centres and Good Food Organizations

Qualifications: Post secondary degree in related field; 3 years experience with strong knowledge of evaluation methodologies, data collection, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and data dissemination; strong research and writing skills; experience with knowledge sharing using a broad range of platform and tools.

Stewardship Coordinator

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, implement and monitor a strategic donor stewardship program for all CFCC donors;
  • Work with others to create and support meaningful engagement opportunities for donors that align with the donor service model;
  • Support the development of donor stewardship programs at our network of Community Food Centres that align, where possible, with the approach at CFCC;
  • Maximize the utility and usage of Salesforce, CFCC’s primary CRM system and fundraising database;

Qualifications: 3 years working experience in a non-profit working environment with solid understanding of the key principles and practices of a donor development program; excellent computer skills with knowledge on donor management software; understand the importance of stewardship and previous experience in a fundraising environment.

Writer and Communications Manager

Responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of CFCC’s strategic annual communications plan and develop communications materials
  • Help lead the development of key organizational documents and marketing materials such as annual reports, impact reports, campaign and event collateral, website, etc.;
  • Help develop and execute CFCC’s media strategy and provide ongoing media relations;
  • Manage CFCC’s publications database;
  • Contribute to the execution of national and local fundraising and awareness campaigns and events;
  • Support partner Community Food Centres and other affiliated organizations with communications tools and trainings

Qualifications: Post secondary education in related field with 5 years of communication experience in non-profit environment, journalism and/or media; ability to write clearly and concisely; experience in editing and proofreading; have an excellent sense of grammar and usage; have experience using a variety of communications platforms and strategies to generate media interest in key issues; be comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment; and have a demonstrated interest in food and social justice issues

All the positions are Full-time, permanent; 37.5 hrs/week
