Inspired by the conference theme, “Building Bridges Together,” we are proud to announce that Bring Food Home 2013 will feature a political plenary panel featuring a distinguished lineup of MPPs and party leaders on Sunday, November 17th. Register to attend!

“Food Policy Opportunities and Dilemmas: An Open Dialogue with Political Representatives” will bring together representatives from different political parties for a collaborative discussion on food policy issues such as student nutrition, challenges facing new farmers, and access to healthy local foods among First Nations communities.

The panel will feature Ernie Hardeman (MPP, Oxford), Teresa Piruzza (MPP, Windsor West and Minister of Children and Youth Services), Jonah Schein (MPP, Davenport), and Mike Schreiner (Leader of the Green Party of Ontario), moderated by Lauren Baker from Sustain Ontario’s Steering Committee.

Bring Food Home 2013, taking place in Windsor from November 17th to 19th, is a three-day event attracting leaders from agriculture, government, industry, education, and non-profit sectors to discuss groundbreaking initiatives and promising ideas for building a stronger future for food in the province and beyond. Bring Food Home will also feature tours of urban agriculture, rural farms, and food waste reduction projects throughout the Essex region and Detroit.
