Nominations are now open for the co-operative spirit recognition awards
Is there a co-op or an individual that should be recognized for their leadership and commitment within the Ontario co-operative movement?
Nominate them for a Co-operative Spirit Award. Deadline to submit nominations is Wednesday, September 4, 2013.
Here is your opportunity to…
- Recognize co-operative engagement successes
- Honour advocacy and government relations efforts
- Acknowledge co-operative education achievements
- Applaud commitment to co-operative development
You can do this by …
- Nominating an eligible co-op, credit union/caisse populaire or co-op cluster (your own, or another deserving Ontario organization)
- Nominating a co-op champion or leader
- Working with others to submit a nomination
- Passing along this notice to others in your co-operative network

- Co-operative Engagement (Awarded to an organization)
- Advocacy & Government Relations (Awarded to an individual)
- Co-operative Education (Awarded to an organization)
- Co-operative Development (Awarded to an individual)

Nomination in 5 Easy Steps
Once you determine the applicable award category, and decide if you’ll be nominating an organization or an individual, there are just five steps for Award nomination:
- Download the Spirit Award brochure, which also includes the nomination form and eligibility criteria (available here)
- Complete and sign the nomination form. (Your nominee must sign, too.)
- Complete the two open-ended questions on the statement of nomination.
- Include two letters of support, a personal resume or organizational history, and optionally, provide other information to support the nomination.
- Review your package for completeness and send your nomination package to On Co-op to arrive on or before September 4, 2013.

The Awards will be presented October 16, 2013 in Milton, Ontario during the Co-op Week Conference and Celebration.
