The National Student Food Charter is an essential movement-building tool. This foundational document will provide students across Canada with a common language and common vision for addressing food issues on their campuses. The process of consulting on the charter has already strengthened the student food movement by connecting students with each other on campus and nationally. Meal Exchange and the Campus Food Systems Project will be working to support students taking the charter to campus in September when it enters its pilot year. A national student voice endorsed by respected local and national organizations will provide leverage as students work with their university administrations to implement food policies that promote and support just and sustainable campus food systems.

If you are a business or organization and would like to endorse the charter, first review the charter, and then send an email to caitlin@mealexchange.com stating “We (organization, business, or group name) endorse the National Student Food Charter dated August 3, 2012” by August 15.
