Join Pushing Food Forward Saturday August 11, 2012 from 7-11pm in celebrating two years of Food Forward and all that we’ve accomplished together. Whether you’re a Food Forward regular, or it’s your first event, come learn more and participate in Toronto’s incredible food movement. Network with movers and shakers in good food policy, business, and community.

We will be presenting the winners of the 2012 Food Forward Awards in the following categories: Breakout Food Activist, Spicy New Venture, Sweet New Initiative, Food Forward Outstanding Member. Help us congratulate the winners. To nominate someone for one of these awards visit: http://pushfoodforward.com/FFawards

Food Forward is celebrating the success and achievements of our members and partners, so come try some local appetizers and drinks, and lots of tasty raffle prizes from our members and Toronto food start-ups. Hear from musical guest Maria Kasstan and spoken word artist Ritallin. We’re also hosting a free bicycle tour of good food initiatives in Trinity-Spadina, join us starting at 3PM same day at the People’s Peas Garden in West Queen’s Park (north of Wellesley).

Buy your ticket today (http://pushingforward.eventbrite.com/ and also available at the door). Your donation supports our work on good food policy and jobs – sliding scale, contribute what you can to provide your membership support for our third year.

A big THANK YOU to Bento Miso (300-862 Richmond St. W) for hosting us, to Food Forward team volunteers for organizing, and to our members for their food and prize donations: The Love Muffin Bakery, Tita Flips, Cookie Martinez, La Natura, Bumpercrop, Fresh, Mama Earth Organics, Black Oak Brewery, Alternative Grounds, Green Earth Organics, and Daniluk Consulting for their prize donations. Still accepting more, let us know if you’d like to contribute! Bento Miso is just south of Trinity Bellwoods Park and is wheelchair accessible by elevator (washroom is not, unfortunately).
