A report by consultants hired by Toronto City Council has identified City programs and grants for potential cuts that would eliminate entire environmental and urban agriculture programs. This option is being presented when Toronto residents are increasing their use of parks, community gardens and are as environmentally conscious as ever.

As residents across Toronto who use and rely on important City services in our parks and urban environment, we are very concerned about threats to vital programs and grants that benefit the health of Torontonians and the sustainability of our City.

Therefore, we the undersigned petition the City of Toronto to maintain important environmental and community services including tree planting goals, the urban agriculture program and the Toronto Environment Office including Live Green Toronto, and to work closely with residents to enhance the community use of our parks. We will continue to make our voices heard to City Council on these matters.
