Just a couple of weeks after my last post on kids who love food, I’ve already come across more amazing youngsters who are trying to educate others on important food issues!

This 9-year-old from Windsor explains why she wants a chicken as a pet (after all, when was the last time your cat or dog produced something you could eat?) and why urban backyard chickens should be legalised. (For anyone interested, her mother did start a chicken collective just outside the city limits.)

The girl below and her grandmother decided to do an experiment to see how chemicals affect our food by trying to sprout three yams – one conventional, one organic and one that she bought at a farmers’ market. Check it out!
