The Toronto Youth Food Policy Council (TYFPC) is inviting submissions for our first annual journal. The TYFPC is a youth leader in food policy – seeking to mobilise and engage youth to help build a just food system. The TYFPC Journal aims to bring together a progressive youth vision and voice in the food system. Our objective is to create an accessible academic journal of research, concepts, case studies and arguments and to help youth be recognised for their contribution to sustainable food system research.

Submission guidelines:

  • Written by youth (under 30)
  • Article up to 1500 words
  • Acceptable topics can include, but are not limited to: food issues, food systems, food movement, food literacy, nutrition, sustainable agriculture, food and the environment, food access and equity and urban agriculture.
  • Must be progressive, innovative, current and relevant!

Submission deadline is Friday, July 15, 2011.

The TYFPC Journal Committee is also pleased to review and provide feedback on abstract submissions for individuals wishing to submit a proposed journal idea prior to composing the entire article. The deadline for abstract submissions is Wednesday, June 15, 2011.
