With the current trade conflict between Canada and the U.S., trade in fruit, vegetables, meats, and beverages will be affected.
With people struggling more than ever with food affordability it is time to:
- Strengthen Ontario’s food resources so we can Buy Local!
- Invest in local food: farmers, fishers, harvesters, processors, retailers
- Guarantee public sector purchasing of local food and farm products

The policy issues and recommendations linked here have been developed through a participatory process facilitated by Sustain partners over 4 months, engaging over 90+ organizations across Ontario and Indigenous Territories. These issues and solutions come from diverse regional experts working together in many areas of our food system, to identify pathways that transition toward sustainable food systems.
