EEC Jean Paul II received the “nourish to flourish” grant to purchase new equipment for the school. We serve a population of 240 students with diverse representation from kindergarten to grade 6 in a mainly Franco-Ontario experience.

Jean Paul II runs a healthy lunch and snack program which is available to all students. We pursued the grant because there was a need to have more equipment to better store purchased foods.

At the time we received the grant one of our refrigerators had died and the funding was not available to re-purchase, but through the grant we were able to re-purchase a new refrigerator which has been servicing our school. Food is no longer spoiling and it has been a great experience for all.

The school social worker said, “it is amazing being able to see all the children being nourished and not hungry. This is a great program for the students.”
