Inclusive Prosperity (a subsidiary of the Fair Finance Fund) has launched two land-access programs for equity-deserving farmers, especially those from African, Indigenous, and other racialized communities in the southern Ontario region.
1. Farmer Field School
Farmer Field School is hands-on, practical training for equity-deserving farmers focused on sustainable agriculture, combined with essential knowledge in financial literacy, farm management, and entrepreneurship.
The Bourgeois Farm, located in Tiverton, in the Municipality of Kincardine, Bruce County, Ontario, was donated to Ontario Farmland Trust (OFT) in 2024 by the estate of Eugene and Ann Bourgeois, with the intention that it continues to serve the community through sustainable agriculture, conservation, and shared learning.
The Farmer Field School program utilises both online classes and in-person training at the Tiverton Farm over a 6-month curriculum. Throughout the program, farmers will gain access to mentorship and networking opportunities with experienced producers — particularly from racialized communities — ensuring a supportive environment that extends beyond the classroom and field. The Farmer Field School welcomes both beginner and experienced farmers who are looking to expand their skills and deepen their connection to sustainable agriculture in Canada.

2. Land Access Program
Whether you are a beginning farmer seeking land access or an experienced farmer seeking a supportive environment to scale up your operation, the Tiverton Farmland Access Program offers a unique opportunity to grow your farm business while contributing to a community-led, sustainable agriculture initiative.
On the Bourgeois Farm, Inclusive Prosperity, in partnership with OFT, is proud to launch an affordable and accessible farmland access program designed to support equity-deserving farmers in Ontario.
Farmers leasing land at Bourgeois should expect to operate within a living landscape where agricultural, ecological, and community activities occur alongside one another.
