As part of their series on Advancing Justice in the Community Food Sector, FoodShare is hosting an upcoming workshop, Understanding Joint Struggles — Food Sovereignty from Turtle Island to Palestine, Sudan, and Beyond, with speakers Nisrin Elamin and Yasmeen El-Hasan on Tuesday, November 25.

FoodShare explains that communities worldwide are fighting for food sovereignty and self-determination – from Indigenous movements here on Turtle Island to struggles in Palestine, Sudan, and beyond. This webinar will explore how these deeply interconnected fights for food justice hold shared roots in resistance against settler-colonialism and imperialism.

The workshop will discuss how people working in the nonprofit sector can take meaningful action: building coalitions, supporting grassroots movements, and mobilizing resources in solidarity rather than charity.
