The federal government has recently published all the National School Food Program agreements with every province and territory, marking the first time governments from coast-to-coast-to-coast are aligning around a shared vision for a national school food program.
Backed by $1 billion over five years, the federal-provincial-territorial agreements lay the groundwork for healthier students, stronger communities, and a more equitable school food system in Canada.
We encourage you to read this recent blog post from the Coalition for Healthy School Food, which breaks down what the new agreements mean for the future of school food in Canada.
As the blog post explains, this is a turning point for school food in Canada, and it’s thanks to years of grassroots advocacy from people in the school food movement!
