Farms at Work has developed a free, searchable online tool that will connect owners of farmland with farmers seeking land to rent and other opportunities. It also has great potential to build the necessary connections for farm business succession.

For many years, Farms at Work and many other organizations across the province have been working hard to solve the issues that are undermining the agricultural sector.

The number of farmers in Ontario has been declining for a long time and the rate of retirement is accelerating.
Skyrocketing land prices and encroaching development are making it untenable for potential growers to purchase the land they need, while farms sold to non-farmers are often taken out of production.
The amount of farmland in production is declining.

Meanwhile, demand for food increases and climate change is making reliable access to food a high priority for all Ontarians.
