The Coalition for Healthy School Food has launched a letter writing campaign ahead of the upcoming election to ask the leaders of all political parties and MP candidates to #NourishKidsNow and commit to a School Food Program for Canada.

“Healthy school food programs are known to improve students’ diets, school performance, attendance, and social cohesion, regardless of household income,” the Coalition explains. “Yet, Canada is the only G7 country without a federally supported School Food Program and has been ranked 37th of 41 wealthy countries when it comes to children’s food security and nutrition.”

If you would like to support the Coalition’s Written Submission for the Pre-Budget 2022 Consultations asking for an investment towards establishing a cost-shared, universal school food program for Canada, access their template letter here.
