FLEdGE, Lakehead University, USC Canada, and Just Food are hosting a full-day workshop in Ottawa on Saturday, August 18: Agroecology Field School and Research Summit.

Farmers, researchers, community organizers, and students will gather to discuss the future of agroecology in Canada and how to bring this international movement here.

Attendees will learn about agroecology from one of the most experienced voices in the movement, Peter Rosset, as well as from other speakers from around the world and across the country.

Topics will include Indigenous perspectives, the international peasant movement, the National Food Policy in Canada, and Farmers’ Rights.

The workshop is taking place at Just Food Farm in Ottawa, 2391 Pépin Court, and begins at 8:30 a.m.

Registration fees are $10 for students and farmers; $20 for community members and community organizations; and $60 for researchers and faculty. Ticket prices include a light lunch.
