The below information is from his latest CBC interview here. You can find Chef Jagger Gordon near Dundas Street West and Bathurst Street, giving away sandwiches and loaves of fresh bread. Neighborhoods should know that his restaurant, Soup Bar, contains bread that is from reputable bakeries. You will find fresh loaves of foccaccia, olive loaf and four types of soup here. The loaves are from credible bakeries and the soup is made from ingredients rescued from grocery stores and restaurants, all which would have otherwise been in landfills. Their meals are nutritionally balanced and on a pay-what-you-can system.
This Pay what you can system allows people who cannot afford their food, some dignity to pay a small price for it. At the Soup Bar, you will find a pay-what-you-can-jar where Chef Gordon gives customers poker chips after they add money to the jar. Those who are unable to contribute to the jar can use these poker chips as currency for a meal.
