Langford Conservancy, Sustainable Brant and Rare Charitable Research Reserve are hosting a forum on Tools for Protecting Farmland

The Tools for Protecting Farmland forum will be on April 5th from 6:00 pm- 8:00 pm in Brantford Ontario. Check out the Langford Conservancy press release below:
Attention new farmers, retiring farmers, and organizations that support the protection of farmland and access to land for new farmers: Join us for a speaker’s panel followed by working round table discussion about innovative and effective ways to fund and protect farmland Ontario.
Speakers to include: Wally Seccombe, formerly of Everdale Farm, Dan Naccarato, New and Young Farmers, Scott Hughes, Capacity Build, Tom Woodcock rare Charitable Research Reserve, Kathryn Enders, Ontario Farmland Trust, and Erin Shapiro, Ontario Greenbelt Alliance.
Topics to be covered: farmer run co-operatives, using community bonds for raising funds, conservation easements, ground leases, long-term renewable leases, greenbelt protection policy, and new farmer issues.
Several organization will be present to join in the discussion and will have literature about their work, including: The National Farmers Union, Ecological Farmers of
Ontario, rare Charitable Research Reserve, Ontario Farmland Trust, Langford Conservancy, and Ontario Greenbelt Alliance.
A light dinner will be served at 6pm, with the forum to follow.
