Celebrate Ontario Agriculture Week with Innovative Greenbelt Farmers Profiled in the Greenbelt Foundation’s Newest Report:
The latest research from the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation profiles nine farmers to better understand what makes successful farm businesses. Based on interviews with farmers in sectors from greenhouses to on-farm markets to livestock, this report explains how farm operators are managing their farms in a way that translates into financial success and long term viability.
The Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation is pleased to share the findings of this report and to celebrate Ontario Agriculture Week at the Halton Region Museum. Participants are invited to hear from the report’s author, Jim Wheeler and three of the profiled farm operators. They will be joined by Ryan Koeslag from the Agri-Food Management Institute who will outline findings of a recent Ipsos Reid study that documents the financial benefits of various business management practices.
Copies of the report will be available at the event.
Date: October 9th, from 9:30am to 12:30pm (with lunch to follow)
Location: The Halton Regional Museum, 5181 Kelso Rd, Milton
Please RSVP by October 5th via the Eventbrite page to reserve your spot. There is no cost to attend.
