Comment on New Statements of Environmental Values

The Ontario Ministries of Rural Affairs (MRA) and of Agriculture and Food (OMAF) have each proposed a draft Statement of Environmental Values under the Environmental Bill of Rights. These Statements of Environmental Values will help to guide decision-making in the ministries.
These statements are under review as part of the public consultation process required. If you work in agriculture, food production, or in rural communities these statements could impact on policy and program decisions that relate to your work.
You can read the OMAF statement here and the MRA statement here. If you have concerns or changes to suggest, you can provide them through the formal consultation process. Submit comments to OMAF here and to MRA here. To be considered, comments are required by May 27, 2014. Sustain Ontario would also like to know what you think.
