The Ontario Edible Education Network has been established to bring together groups across the province that are working to connect children and youth with healthy food systems, so that these groups can share resources, ideas, experiences, and work together.
In an effort to bring these groups closer, build on our collective knowledge, and further our work on connecting young people to good food, the Ontario Edible Education Network is now launching a mentorship program, so diverse individuals and groups can learn from others by sharing ideas and best practices.
To help facilitate these types of conversations, the mentorship program is receiving applications from individuals who would like a small amount of financial support to travel, meet and learn from others who can help inform their ongoing work. The program is receiving applications until April 11, 2014 (first round) and June 13, 2014 (second round). We ask that those who receive funding document what they have learned so that we can share these lessons across the Network.
In addition, the Network is also launching a telephone mentorship program. This may be particularly helpful for those who have limited time to travel, are a long distance away from others that they would like to learn from, or who don’t receive travel funding due to limited funding availability.
Please visit both pages for the Travel Mentorship Program and the Phone Mentorship Program for more information.
