Mapletons OrganicReady to start your own farm enterprise but not sure where to begin?

Mapleton’s Organic Dairy has land available for a new farmer looking to start their own business.  Over the past 6 years, Mapleton’s has opened its doors to give a young farmer the possibility of running his or her own vegetable-growing business. With a bustling on-farm store, some existing infrastructure and equipment, and the opportunity to collaborate and share with the Mapleton’s community, it is a great spot to launch your farm business.  Market gardens, CSAs, SPIN gardening… Mapleton’s is open to exploring different opportunities for mutual support and growth.

Mapleton’s is offering 3 to 4 acres of land that was covercropped in 2013 and now ready to grow vegetables. There is a small greenhouse on side and a vegetable stall. There is some small equipment available (Farmall tractor with attachments) and some of the primary tillage can be done by the bigger farm equipment.
The farm is located at 8548 Wellington Road 7 (a.k.a. Elora Road) in Mapleton Township (Wellington County), approximately 40 minutes from Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo, and Orangeville.  Amount of land available and rate per acre negotiable. If you are seriously considering a future in farming but do not have the resources to get started this might be a possibility for you.

Mapleton’s is looking for a person that has at least some experience in farming, is entrepreneurial, independent and fits in the farm’s community.

If you are interested in exploring this opportunity, you can reach Martin de Groot at info@mapletonsorganic.ca.  Come and see the place for yourself!
