With our “nourish to flourish” grant, students participated in an immersive, hands-on learning experience at Apple Land Station.
Through guided activities, students explored the local agricultural ecosystem by learning about the life cycle of apples, examining the critical role of pollinators in sustainable food production, and practicing responsible harvesting techniques. The experience was enriched through interaction with farm animals and participation in orchard tours, helping students make meaningful connections between food systems, environmental stewardship, and healthy, locally-sourced choices.
This experiential learning deepened students’ food literacy and fostered a lasting appreciation for sustainable agriculture, aligning with the grant’s focus on empowering students to make informed, healthy food choices.
