Registration is open for the Northern Ontario Farm Innovation Alliance (NOFIA)’s Northern Ontario Ag Conference, taking place on February 6 & 7, 2026, in Sudbury.

The annual conference brings together primary producers, agri-business, researchers, students, and industry stakeholders, with this year’s conference highlighting innovation and education.

Applications are open for three key opportunities, which will take place at the Conference banquet: the Innovative Northern Farmer Award, two NOFIA Bursaries, and the Student Research Poster Contest. Submissions for each opportunity opened on October 1st and will close on November 28, 2025.

  • The Innovative Northern Farmer Award is designed to celebrate innovation in Northern Ontario agriculture. The winning innovation will receive a prize of $1,500 and present their innovation at the conference banquet on February 6, 2026.
  • The NOFFIA Bursary program aims to support the next generation of agricultural professionals. Two bursaries, each valued at $2,000, are available to students pursuing a post-secondary education or apprenticeship in an agriculture or veterinary related field.
  • The Student Research Poster Contest will highlight student led research that is relevant to Northern Ontario’s agricultural sector. The contest offers cash prizes for the top three posters. Students will have the opportunity to showcase their research to northern stakeholders and producers at the conference.
