The Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) is currently providing funding to GTA farmers to plant cover crops and support clean water initiatives through their Rural Clean Water Program.

These comprehensive programs provide technical assistance and funding incentives for agricultural landowners to voluntarily implement agricultural beneficial management practices (BMPs) on their land.

Cover crops help reduce soil erosion, absorb excess nutrients, and improve soil health — all while protecting waterways and boosting farm sustainability.

For program eligibility, grant assistance, how to apply, and details relevant to each region in TRCA’s jurisdiction, visit the TRCA website here.
