Coming this school year! Sustain Ontario is pleased to announce the new nourish to flourish school grant stream that we are launching in partnership with Farm Boy and Farm to Cafeteria Canada.

With a vision to develop an ecosystem where children not only eat nourishing food but also develop a deep understanding and appreciation for food, nourish to flourish, Farm Boy’s flagship charitable program, will award one-time grants to schools in the amounts of $500, $1,000 and $3,000 for a total of $55,000 to support in-school meal programs as well as food literacy programming in Ontario K-12 schools. This will allow schools to offer educational experiences such as immersive trips to farms, school gardens, and guest speaker events, and to purchase equipment and/or food that is as fresh, healthy, culturally-appropriate and as locally and sustainably-sourced as possible.

Farm Boy has launched a point-of-sale fundraising campaign in-store from August 1 to August 15, inviting customers to donate at checkout to support nourish to flourish. The company will match donations up to $25,000, with all proceeds going directly to the grants.

The nourish to flourish grant application window will be open from September 9 – October 21, 2024.

Information about how to apply will be available on the Sustain Ontario website on September 9th, so stay tuned!
